Who am I?
I’m Claire, aka Ms Britaly!In 2018, I decided I wanted to change my life and relocate to Italy. I didn't know anyone there, I didn't speak the language and I had only visited the country twice before. Just eight months after I had made this decision, I packed up my suitcases and moved solo from London to South Italy, embarking on my very first expat experience. On paper it sounds completely bonkers but in reality it was the making of me.I’m on a mission to help you build a life here in Italy, the real way.No fluff, just honest insights and practical support through my digital products, social content and YouTube videos. I want to help you understand what living here is actually like, so you can make informed choices, avoid the common pitfalls and truly thrive in this country.

The Aperitivo Lounge is a community with a difference.My personal experience with online 'expat' communities has been predominantly negative, with a lot of people being very opinionated and just downright disapproving of people's dreams to move to Italy.People seek out these communities for advice and sometimes even reassurance yet I have seen many people's dreams totally dashed by the responses they receive. I was at the receiving end of such an experience back in 2018 when I decided I wanted to move here and had I not had a strong 'why', I'm not sure I would have taken the plunge. So I decided it was time to change things.
